Call Me…

Lift the veil, expose what’s hidden
Discover what’s buried deep inside
Darkness, light, and what lies between
A distinct formation of three sides
Each surface only when bidden
When coaxed out in order to be seen

See the light, how it’s burning bright
Feel the warmth of the flickering flame
Working to hold the darkness at bay
Both different, yet somehow the same
Engaged in a never-ending fight
For control over what I do and say

Call me a sinner
Or, call me a saint
They coexist inside this shell
Half in heaven and half in hell
Call me a madman
Or angel, or beast
Because I am caught in between
Straddling the dangerous ravine

Peering deep into my veiled eyes
Behold the war that rages inside
Two sides pulling as I silently scream
My tenuous foothold starting to slide
Struggling in the lows and the highs
How the madness in my eyes gleam

Embrace me for all that I am
Accepting the darkness and light
An angel, beast and a madman
Hold my head as I war and fight
Letting me know you give a damn
About what happens to this man

Call me a sinner
Or, call me a saint
They coexist inside this shell
Half in heaven and half in hell
Call me a madman
Or angel, or beast
Because I am caught in between
Straddling the dangerous ravine

I am all three
Can’t you see
Thirty-three and a third
Angel, beast and madman

Call me a sinner
Or, call me a saint
For they coexist inside this shell
While I’m caught in between
Straddling the dangerous ravine
